CASTLE

How to reach us?
The Saltworks Castle can be reached by public transport from Krakow: 304, 224, 204, 244. In the vicinity there are stops: "Wieliczka Salt Mine", "Wieliczka Market Square", "Wieliczka Goliana". You can also take a train from the Main Railway Station in Krakow. The nearest station is "Wieliczka - Rynek Mine".

Museum surroundings:
The museum is led by a city pavement made of concrete slabs and cobblestones. In front of the main gate of the Castle there is a pedestrian crossing with lowered curbs, but without traffic lights. The area around the Castle is lined with paving stones. The castle does not have its own parking spaces.
The cash register is located on the right side of the entrance. Stairs lead to it.
In the courtyard benches for rest are prepared. There is also a castle model made of bronze with Braille descriptions available to all visitors, especially for people with visual disabilities.

Space in the building:
The castle is a historic building, currently unadapted for people in wheelchairs or with mobility problems. The exhibitions are located on 3 floors, to which stairs lead. The toilet for visitors is located in the castle cellars. It is not adapted for people with disabilities. There is a cloakroom next to it. In some museum halls, due to the nature of the exhibition, it is semi-dark. Exhibits are placed in showcases.

The nearest station is "Wieliczka - Rynek Mine". The exhibition of the Cracow Saltworks Museum Wieliczka is located on the third level of the Wieliczka Salt Mine, at a depth of 135 m.

Facilities:
The museum exhibition is opened by a mining elevator in the Regis shaft or in the Daniłowicz shaft. The appropriate width of communication routes for wheelchairs is maintained. There are no thresholds. The Museum also has one toilet adapted for people with disabilities. There is a wheelchair in the Museum that can be rented during the visit. In the museum chambers, due to the nature of the mine, there is semi-darkness.
