Cross and salt - the heritage of faith of Wieliczka minersprice: 29.00 PLNENABLEPRODUCT DISABLEThe publishing house contains the introductory word by Cardinal Stanisław Dziwisz and consists of two complementary parts. The first authorship by Agnieszka Wolańska is devoted to the centuries-old faith of Wieliczka miners, which is expressed in the creation of underground chapels, making mining pilgrimage decisions to places of culture of saints, and now - living cultivating religious mining traditions. The second part of Marek Skubisz is a catalog presenting mining chapels arranged in chronology of origin, location, original equipment and condition.
In total, about 40 chapels were built in the Wieliczka mine, the oldest date back to the 17th century, which is unique on a global scale. Contains catalog includes 24 objects. The reader has the option of using the chapels that were once and today in the Wieliczka salt mine. Sometimes only archival materials should be processed based on the original image of the chapels, and even indicate their first location.
The "Cross and Salt - heritage of the faith of Wieliczka miners" was published jointly with the Krakow Saltworks Museum and the "Wieliczka" Salt Mine in connection with World Youth Day. The publication is available in Polish-English version, contains 151 pages and 113 photos.
