Catalogue of salt cellars of the Cracow Saltworks Museum Wieliczka. Acquisitions 2014-2020price: 55.00 PLNENABLEPRODUCT DISABLEThis is a continuation of publications showcasing vessels intended for serving salt, which are part of the museum's collection that has been amassed over nearly 50 years. This unique collection includes works created from the 15th century to the present day across almost all continents. It stands out for its richness in terms of quantity (over 1,000 items) and especially the variety and types of salt shakers - single, in pairs, in larger sets, or as part of large table services.
It is worth noting that the museum's collection of salt shakers currently includes exceptional pieces distinguished by a high level of artistry - sometimes of rare collector's quality. Recently, the collection has been intensively expanded, mainly through purchases on the international art market. Given the significant expansion of the collection, there arose a necessity to compile and present the latest acquisitions in a new museum catalog.
This publication, adhering to the principles and system of the first catalog from 2014, presents the acquisitions of the Wieliczka Salt Mine Museum from 2014 to 2020. In addition to providing reliable knowledge in the field of art history, which allows for clear systematization and explanation of the nature of these valuable collections, the publication draws attention with its attractive graphic design - charming, high-quality photographs fully capture the beauty and artistry of these small masterpieces of applied art. The book has been entirely translated into English, significantly broadening its audience, and despite its scientific nature, its aesthetic qualities make it appealing not only to connoisseurs but also to all lovers of art.
