The Cracow Saltworks Museum in Wieliczka, the Salt Mine and the town of Wieliczka were visited by a group of trainees of the Young Professionals Forum as part of the Congress of Organization of World Heritage Cities held on 2-5 June 2019 in Cracow.
The young people were given an opportunity to learn more about the Museum and Salt Mine during a presentation titled Management of tourists flow in Wieliczka, given by Jan Godłowski, Director of the Cracow Saltworks Museum in Saltworks Castle in Wieliczka. The participants in this year’s workshops could also meet representatives of Wieliczka town authorities.

The motto of this year’s plenary sessions and workshops organized by the International Cultural Centre read ”Heritage and tourism: local communities and visitors – joint responsibility”. The most important topic discussed at the Congress was overtourism in world heritage cities. The event continued and expanded the debate initiated in 2017 in Korean Gyeongju.
