We invite you to visit the Museum Route in the salt mine and Saltworks Castle, as part of the nationwide campaign 'Poland see more - half price weekend' on November 22-24, 2019.
Saltworks Castle
During the event, you will be able to see the Saltworks Castle, the historical administrative seat of the salt company from the end of the 13th century to 1945, inside it there is a collection of salt shakers, one of the world's most valuable in the world. In the past, these items testified to the wealth of the owner and designated a place at the table for the most important person. The Saltworks Castle can be visited from 8.30 to 15.30.

Museum Route in mine
For the first time as part of this action, the Museum invites you to its main exhibition in the salt mine. It presents over 2,000 monuments in 16 original mining chambers. There are, among others, a collection of treadmills (hoisting machines), mining equipment, tools and lighting unique in the world. You can see the enchanting mining reserve of Maria Teresa with preserved traces of exploitation and an unusual creation of nature - a picturesque corner with salt formations. Noteworthy are the oldest clay vessels for salt production (from 6,000 years ago), maps with illustrations of a 17th century mine, paintings and sculptures from underground chapels, two original paintings by Jan Matejko and a modern, multimedia chapel of St. John Paul II.
The Museum route is 1.5 km long, the tour lasts about 1.5 hours. Every day it is visited as part of a ticket to the mine, and during the action it will be possible to visit it completely independently.
Guided groups will come every day. Booking via the form is required. The cost of visiting the Museum Route - 9 PLN. Tickets can be collected on the day of the event at the Saltworks Castle.
