We have released a new series of important academic and popular science publications that highlight the richness of the museum’s collections, the heritage of the Salt Mine, and the results of research conducted by interdisciplinary teams of specialists.
Among the latest titles are both extensive monographs and the newest volume of the museum’s yearbook—all addressed to a wide audience: researchers, enthusiasts of history, archaeology, and geology, as well as those interested in the protection of cultural and natural heritage.

Metal Artefacts from the Bronze Age and Early Iron Age in the Collections of the Krakow Saltworks Museum in Wieliczka, Vols. 1–2 | price: PLN 200.00 / set
This two-volume monograph devoted to metal artefacts of the Lusatian culture from the museum’s archaeological collections answers the question: what is hidden in museum storage? The first volume introduces the subject of metal objects—discussing key issues, the history of research, the role of metal in prehistoric communities and its connections with salt, as well as analysing categories of artefacts such as ornaments, elements of dress, tools, and weapons. The second volume is a catalogue of the collection—each object is illustrated and described in terms of findspot, type, dimensions, weight, discovery context, dating, and inventory number. The publication combines a scholarly approach with popularising elements, making it accessible to a broad readership.
