We are pleased to announce that the Museum's publication "Tourist traffic in the Wieliczka Salt Mine during the period of Austrian administration 1772-1918" has won an honorable mention in the 1st edition of the Museum Book of the Year 2022 competition. The winners were announced at the Royal Castle in Warsaw. The author of the publication is Dr. Barbara Konwerska, historian and deputy director of the Museum.
The contest was organized as part of the History Book Fair by the National Institute of Museums and Collections Protection and the History and Culture Foundation.

The publication is a kind of journey to the ancient land of the salt underground, which has attracted visitors from all over the world since the 18th century. The Wieliczka Salt Mine is not only a witness to the development of European and Polish technical thought, but also one of the first tourist attractions on Polish soil.

The book can be purchased in the e-store and at Museum outlets at the Saltworks Castle and Daniłowicz Shaft.
